Sharon Ann Gross

On Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, Sharon Ann Gross, loving wife and mother of two, passed away at home in Longview at the age of 76.
Sharon was born April 20, 1942, in Victor, Colo., to Thurman and Erma (Northington) Sparks. She was a member of the first graduating class from Mark Morris High School in Longview in 1960.
She married Ralph Strong on Dec. 8, 1960, and two sons were born to them. They later divorced. On July 16, 1982, she married Wayne Gross of Cathlamet. They raised her sons, Jeff and Steve and his daughter, Michelle.
Sharon had a passion for crafts. If she had dried flowers, ribbons, and a glue gun, she could create a masterpiece. She also loved to travel. She was known for her infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit. She was always interested in people and was involved in their stories.
Sharon had a varied work career. She worked at Tollycraft in Kelso for a number of years before continuing on to banking. After that she and her husband Wayne owned and operated Busy Bee Janitorial Service.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Thurman; her mother, Erma; and four siblings, Bill Sparks, Jack Sparks, Helen Rebensdorf, and Wanda Shadiow.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; two sons, Jeff Strong and Steve Strong; four grandchildren, Brittni, Bailee, Jerrod, and Brooke; a great-granddaughter, Madalynn; a stepdaughter, Michelle Gross; and three stepgrandchildren, Ashley, Lindsey, and Brook and stepgreat-grandchildren Kyler and Lyla.
A celebration of Sharon’s life, including a potluck, is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at the American Legion Hall.
