Bob Lakefish, 78, of Longview passed away Jan. 3, 2019, surrounded by family at St. John Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 7, 1940, in Longview to Jack and Ann (Fox) Lakefish, and graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1959, where he excelled in track and field. Bob attended the University of Puget Sound and worked for Weyerhaeuser for 30 years, retiring as a millright in 2005.
He was a member of the Cowlitz Gun Club and enjoyed small game hunting. He also enjoyed training at the gym, raising Boykin Spaniels, trips to the coast, and creating beautiful gardens around his home. He shared wonderful memories with his grandson, Trevor. Bob was a charmer and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by a brother, Stan Lakefish (Susan) of Duvall, Wash.; a daughter, Kristi Morrow-Hagedorn (Howard) of Longview; his grandson, Trevor Morrow of Ramstein AFB, Germany; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by a son, Rob Lakefish; and a brother, Herb Lakefish.
A celebration of Bob’s life is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hospitality Room at Longview Memorial Park.
The family is grateful to Dr. Kirkpatrick and the St. John medical teams for their compassion and patience, and the staff of Delaware Plaza for the loving care they provided.
