Richard E. Hendrickson passed away March 2, 2019, at the Hospice Care Center.
He was born Jan. 22, 1937, in Kelso, to Sherman R. and Martell F. (Kendig) Hendrickson. Dick attended Kelso High School, after which he enlisted in the Air Force. After his discharge he serve with the Washington National Guard and as a first sergeant in the Army Reserve’s in Eureka, Calif.
He married Karen French in 1960. They had two sons, Richard Douglas Hendrickson, and Dennis Earl Hendrickson. He worked at the Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill in Longview and the Georgia Pacific Pulp Mill in Eureka, before moving to Ocean Park, Wash., in 1968 and beginning his career in real estate.
After his divorce in 1974, he married Marie Littlefield; their union ended in 1989. Dick left Ocean Park to sell real estate throughout Eastern Washington. He retired after 33 years in real estate and moved to Spokane to be with his friend and companion Margery Daniels. In retirement he followed Margery’s career path until they finally settled in Kelso.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judith M. Anderson; his son, Richard Douglas Hendrickson, USMC; and his companion and sweetheart, Margery Daniels.
He is survived by his son, Dennis E. Hendrickson; and a nephew, Richard Lane Anderson.
No public service will be held. Cremation has taken place at Green Hills Memorial Gardens & Cemetery.
