Norman died as the result of a fall in Birmingham, Ala. He was born in Portland to Glen and Cathy Smith Aug. 17, 1973. later he went to live with his aunt and uncle, La Rue and Thermer Labrum and was adopted by them in 1978.

He attended schools in Kelso and Lacey, Wash. Norman loved to cook and dreamed of owning a food truck. He was a computer geek who loved science and quantum physics. He was a soft-hearted teddy bear and dearly loved by his family and friends.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Thermer and La Rue Labrum. He is survived by his birth parents, Glen Smith and Cathy Coultard (Rob); three sisters, Sharon McDonald (Jason), Debbie Labrum and Pam Labrum; two brothers, Lynn Labrum (Gina), and David Labrum (Kathleen); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A gathering of family and friends is planned for 9 a.m. and a celebration of Norman’s life at 10 a.m. Feb. 9 at the LDS Church, 2884 North Pacific Ave., in Kelso. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Green Hills Memorial Gardens, 1139 Mt. Brynion Road in Kelso.
