Norma Lynn Arness, 77, of Longview passed away July 30, 2017 at Hospice. She was born September 24, 1939 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Clarence and Olive (Hodge) Shores.
Norma went to school at Coweta Elementary and Downey Jr. High, Downey, CA. She was a caregiver, factory worker, housekeeper and waitress. Norma had many church memberships including bible study at Robert Gray Baptist in Longview, Heritage Bible in Cathlamet and many others.
She enjoyed quilt making, sewing, gardening, flowers, baking & cooking for everyone. She made the best lemon meringue pie, enjoyed singing and song writing, decoupage, and family gatherings. Norma was loving, caring, giving, hardworking, loyal, and determined. Norma was a wonderful mother, grandmother & great grandmother and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Norma married Eugene Arness, and later divorced. They remained close.

Survivors include two sons, Bert Falconer and Richard (Lynn) Falconer; two daughters, Jewell Kehrli (John) and Tammy Shores; five sisters, Betty Buchner, Elizabeth Goldbaum, Katherine McFarland, Carol Belanger, and Diane Winters; three brothers, Arlen Shores, Gerald Shores, and Charles Shores; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and 2 long time friends, Mary Moore and Helen Keyser.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, Darryl; son, Chuck Falconer; the husband she loved dearly, Eugene Arness; and Bob Falconer, father of her children.
A viewing will be held Monday, Aug. 7, 10 a.m. at Steele Chapel with private graveside service following. Ken Bjorge officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Community Home Health and Hospice or to Breast Cancer research. A memorial service will be held at a later date, Ken Bjorge officating.
