May 19, 1926—July 10, 2019
Lorraine Mae Bodin, age 93, passed away July 10, 2019, at her home in Longview, WA. Lorraine was born on May 19, 1926, to Clarence and Flora Campbell in Bemidji, MN. She moved to Longview after marrying Buell E. Bodin on April 26, 1945, at Trinity Lutheran Church, later living in Eugene and Salem, OR, before returning to Longview in the summer of 1964.
Lorraine was a member of Columbia Heights Church for many years, teaching Bible studies, counseling and leading small groups. She became a member of East Hills Alliance Church in June of 2003, where she continued leading a small group. Lorraine’s favorite pastime was studying the word of God. She loved spending time with her family, especially these last few years with the great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading, sewing and jewelery making. Lorraine loved people for just who they were. She always had a kind word of encouragement and a bright smile for all. Lorraine loved the color purple, which is a real expression of her regal and gracious demeanor. Wear purple in honor of her.
Lorraine is survived by her son Tim (Julie Hunter) Bodin, of Newcastle, WA; and daughter Denise (Jim) Cram, of Longview. She was preceded in death by her husband Buell Bodin, on Jan. 3, 2008; grandson Jeremy Bodin, in August of 1981; and brother Richard Campbell, on May 30, 1997.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Aug. 24, 2019, at East Hills Alliance Church, 1405 Burcham St., Kelso, WA. Memorial contributions can be made to the Longview Teen Center, The Boulevard.
