February 26, 1962—April 21, 2019
Kelly Owen Grumbois, 57, passed away peacefully at his home in Kelso, WA, on April 21, 2019. Kelly was born in Longview, WA, to Gene and Barbara Grumbois. He graduated from Kelso High School in 1980 and attended Columbia Basin College. He retired from Pacific Maritime Association as a Longshoreman in 2012. Surviving him are his mother Barbara R. Herron; brothers Gary Grumbois, Greig (Breta) Grumbois, and J.R. Herron; son Nathan Grumbois; son Thyson (Caty) Grumbois and their sons Taylor and Logan; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Kelly was preceded in death by his father Gene Leroy Grumbois and his nephew Gene Michael Grumbois.
Kelly was loved by all who knew him. He liked reliving old days, was a passionate follower of his sons’ baseball games, and then his grandsons’. He watched all sports, always an event on for those stopping by to enjoy. He was sweet, kind and generous. Kelly was an avid painter; each family member has at least one of his paintings on their wall. Kelly rededicated his life to Jesus in 2012 and often talked about the “big journey”—he is on that journey now. He will be missed by all. No service is planned at this time.
