April 28, 1942—April 23, 2019
James S. Widmer, 76, of Longview passed away April 25, 2019 at the Longview Hospice. He was born April 28, 1942 in Longview to Janet (Hess) and Paul Widmer.
Jim acquired all his education in Longview through high school. He was a long time employee of JC Penney’s in the maintenance dept. and was retired.
He was a homebody, liked going out for coffee or breakfast, watching football with his sons, Brian and Michael. Brian was his caregiver. He liked going to the beach with family. Jim was the perfect example of the mild mannered man. Jim was soft spoken, a man of few words who loved his family and friends, never had a bad word about anyone. He never had an enemy in the world. The world would be a better place if everyone was like him.
Jim married Kathy M. Almos in 1969, in Longview. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include his brother, John (Mollie) Widmer of Longview, and 2 sons, Brian of Kelso, and Michael of Longview.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16 at Steele Chapel Memorial Park.
