June 19, 1943—April 22, 2019

Henry “Buck” Croy, 75, of Kelso, WA, passed away April 22, 2019. Henry was born June 19, 1943, in Bremerton, WA. He attended Kelso High School and Lower Columbia College and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Cowlitz County for 39 years, retiring in 2003. Henry also served in the US Navy, fleetside and seabees, from 1960 to 1989. Henry was Commander of the Kelso American Legion in 1976, Exalted Ruler of the Kelso-Longview Elks from 1988-1989, an Elks musician from 1975-2008 and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. He loved fishing, family, his grandchildren and music, playing the keyboard in local clubs for many years. Henry was always a talker who never met a stranger and a great fisherman, who chaired the Elks Fishing Frolic for 25 years.

In 1967, Henry married Joyce Wickstrom in Tacoma, WA. He is survived by his wife Joyce Wickstrom-Croy, of Kelso; sons Stevan, Jon and Nicholas (Krista) Croy; grandsons Blake (Hannah) and Emmett Croy, of Longview, Spencer and Jonny Croy, of Yakima; granddaughter Kaytlynn Croy, of Longview; great-grandchildren Maliyah and Gavin Croy, of Longview; sister-in-law Eileen Reeves and her children, of Seattle. Henry is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and all of his siblings.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 2900 Parkview Drive, Longview. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church Building Fund.
