Helen B. Hutchinson passed away peacefully Jan. 4, 2019. She was born Jan. 7, 1936, to Ralph Lavine and Mabel Symonds Lavine in Anacortes, Wash.
She married Gene Hutchinson on Jan. 3, 1953. They had four children, Charles Hutchinson, Yvonne Randol, Ralph Hutchinson and Tammy Peonio. Together they had 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was a homemaker her entire married life and after their children were raised Helen was involved in several groups. She volunteered at the Weyerhaeuser Forest Learning Center for many years, and was a member of Kalama TOPS, Kalama Lions (former president), and a quilting club. Helen made quilts for all of her family and many friends, 66 quilts in all. She also spent many late nights playing cards with family and friends. She was an avid fisherman and loved clam digging any chance she got.
In later years, Helen loved to travel, she and Gene went on many cruises to the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Greenland and Iceland. They traveled the United States and Canada with their motor homes, other places were China, many places in Europe and Central America.
Helen was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Thompson (Walt); a brother, Melvin Lavine; and her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Hutchinson; a brother, Dan Lavine (Suzie); four children, Charles Hutchinson (Cathy), Yvonne Randol, Ralph Hutchinson (Lorraine), and Tammy Peonio (Bob); and all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.
She left a lasting impact of love and kindness to her family and friends. She was worshipped by many, especially her husband Gene.
