May 29, 1940 — Sept. 10, 2018
Jerry was born May 29, 1940, in Burlington, Vt. After 78 years of hard work, fishing, Hot Wheels collecting, travel, adventures with family, and various other shenanigans, he died unexpectedly Sept. 10, 2018, of heart complications.
Though he will be greatly missed by many, he did not suffer and is now completely pain free and kickin’ it with his son Cory who preceded him in death many years ago.
This legend of a man was a jack-of-all-trades and an excellent handyman.
His incredibly full life included doing tuneups for NASCAR, pipefitting, construction work, playing guitar with Merle Haggard and Tim McGraw, collecting Hot Wheels, fishing, spending time with his wife and their dog Tucker, enjoying breakfast during the week with his daughters and best buddies, and so many other activities that would take up more than this entire page.
He loved his family and his faith and was a devout Catholic that attended Mass every Saturday or Sunday with his wife for over 40 years.
“Pete” was preceded in death by his mother, Mathilda; his father, Raymond; three sisters, Pat, Snookie, and Donna; a brother, Chico; his son, Cory; and many close cousins.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie; nine children, Kim, Randy (Dixie), Shawn, Dana (Raghid), Nene (Mike), Shanna (Grant), Darby (Nikki), Chelsea (Ben), and Emma (Havoc); his aunt, Pat; a brother, Sonny (Masako); a sister, Sis; 17 grandchildren, Nick, Courtney (Nic), Megan, Farida, Aaron, Khallid, Mallory, Kristen, Ashley (Adam), Kate, Aminah, Miles, Dalton, Zayneldin, Spencer, Noah, and Eloise; four great-grandchildren, Ayden, August, Addie, and Victoria, and countless friends and extended family.
Jerry was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa, ‘papa’, great-grandpa, and friend. He will be greatly missed, and will be carried in the hearts of all those lucky enough to have been a part of his life.
Jerry contributed to many charities and organizations in his community and loved to give back to others. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of choice.
A Catholic service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18 at St. Joseph’s Mission Church in Kalama. All are welcome.
