Everett Duane Loftesness, 80, of Rainier, OR, passed away on July 27, 2017 at the Community Home Health & Hospice in Longview.
He was born on Jan. 15, 1937 in Granville, North Dakota to Clarence and Olive (Skarstad) Loftesnes. He was a resident of Seaside, Warrenton and Clatskanie, OR.
Everett served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1959. On Dec. 3, 1959 he married Betty Hauck who preceded him in death on June 26, 2006. He worked in the Steam Plant and later as a Journeyman Electrician at the Wauna Paper Mill. He finally retiring after 32 years of service.
Everett was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, and the VFW. He enjoyed dancing, singing, playing the guitar, motorcycling, golfing, traveling and many outdoor activities. What Everett loved the most was spending time with his family.
Besides his wife Betty, Everett was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Carl, Robert, & Richard. Everett is survived by his children, Tammy (Ron) Bowles of Rainier, Darren (Marie) of Clatskanie, Lisa (Brad) Jenkins of LaGrande, Colette Christopher of Hungry Horse, MT, Michele (Mark) Clark of Hillsboro, and Heather (Dan) Foultner of Rainier; sister, Corinne Keyes; brother, Howard Loftesness; 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
There will be a Funeral Service for Everett on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clatskanie at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2017 at Groulx Family Mortuary from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorial Donations can be made to Community Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632. Arrangements are being handled by Groulx Family Mortuary.
