Evelyn Louise Galloway
February 2, 1929 — March 1, 2018
Evelyn Louise Galloway, 89, passed away March 1, 2018, after a stroke. She was born in Bayou La Batre, Ala., February 2, 1929 to A. B. Clausen and Irene Saucier Clausen. She earned her B.A. in English from Asbury College in 1950 and took her first teaching job in El Paso, Tex. There she met Auburn Galloway and they married in 1952. They moved to Kalama, Wa., in 1953, where they lived until her passing.
She was director of the Kalama Nazarene Day Care Center 1972-1990.
She is survived by her husband, Auburn Galloway; five children, Steven D. Galloway, Bellingham, Wa., Greg Galloway, Nampa, Ida., Rene Galloway, Kalama, Stan Galloway, Broadway, Va., and Shana Henderson, Green River, Wyo; a sister, Lila Dizon, Oahu, Hi; and 14 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one granddaughter.
She loved swimming as well as table games. She was also an avid follower of the Portland Trailblazers, the Seattle Seahawks, and Bama football. The most important thing to her, though, was her family, and she was active in prayer and Bible study at the Kalama Church of the Nazarene.
Funeral arrangements are handled by Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home. The viewing will be noon to 1:30 at Kalama Church of the Nazarene, Saturday, March 10, followed by a service at 2 p.m., Pastor Paul Delashaw officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Kalama Church of Nazarene or Longview Hospice Center.
