Eunice Johnson

Sept. 11, 1925—Oct. 30, 2019

Eunice Elaine Johnson, age 94, passed away on Oct. 30, 2019, in hospice care in Longview, WA. She was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Rock Elm, WI, to Archie and Mable Lamon. She lived in the local area for 90 years.

Eunice was a secretary for Pile Drivers Local 1036 for several years. Her main job was being a homemaker. She was a member of the Northlake Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She belonged to many groups including Red Hat, Single Sisters, Joy Group and Painting Group. She painted many beautiful masterpieces. Eunice had a quick smile for everyone. She knew no strangers; she was loved by all.

Eunice married the love of her life, Lyle, on Aug. 3, 1946. They shared 60 wonderful years together. She and Lyle enjoyed traveling. Their favorite getaways were Hawaii (20 times) and the Pacific Coast beaches. What brought the most joy in life was spending time with family.

Eunice is survived by her daughter Myra (Bill) Manley, of Longview; daughter-in-law Amy Johnson; granddaughter Stacie and great-granddaughter Taylor Manley, of Longview; brother-in-law Babe (Peg) Johnson, of Longview; grandchildren Pat Johnson Jr. and Luke (Angie) Johnson; and great-grandchildren Trey, Audrey, Zoie and Piper. She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle G. Johnson; son Patrick Gene Johnson; brothers Robert and Donald Lamon; sisters Beldean Meyer, Bernice Conboy and Phyliss Hood.

A service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, reception to follow at Northlake Baptist Church with Mark Schmutz officiating Memorial contributions may be made to Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O. Box 2067 Longview, WA. Cascade Northwest Funeral Chapel at Green Hills Memorial Gardens is in charge of arrangements.
