Edgar Harold Hadley

Edgar Harold Hadley of Longview passed away Dec. 26, 2018, at the age of 87.
Ed was born Nov. 21, 1930, in Hawthorne, Calif., to Harold V. and Catherine (Blaznek) Hadley and was raised in Kansas with his seven sisters and three brothers. Ed was a member of the Air Force for 27 years, retiring from active duty in Spokane in 1975 after serving in Japan and the South Pacific as part of the Cold War forces and in Vietnam.
In 1980 he married Mary Adams while living in Harrington, Wash., and residing both there and in Spokane until health concerns caused them to move to Longview to be near Mary’s daughter, Amy and her family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Catherine; a brother, James; his wife, Mary; a stepson, Laurence Jarrett; a stepdaughter, Billie Sue Hall and her son Mark Hall.
He is survived by five children, Scott, Linda, Debbie, Michelle and Shawn; Mary’s sixchildren and their families, Cathi Gross and son Jeff; Billie Sue’s children—sons Carson, Matthew and Michael Hall, daughter Laura Pitman (Rob) and children Ryan and Emma; Dewey Jarrett (Patricia) and children Erin Murnan, Nick Murnan and Estelle Riley; Amy Hicks (Mike) and children, A.J., Aaron and Shannon Hicks, Jenny (Todd) Riffe, and great-grandson Usiah Hicks; Brian Jarrett (Donna) and children Jeremiah Jarrett (Jennifer) and great-grandchildren Alexis, Zoey and Sydney, Kylie Jones (Sterling) and great-granddaughters Addie, Henley and newborn Sutton.
A celebration of Edgar’s life will be announced at a later date in Newport, Wash.
The family requests donations be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice in Longview, or your local Humane Society.
