Dwight Alvin Joplin, age 72, passed away Oct. 25, 2019, in Kelso, WA. He was born March 5, 1947, in Longview, WA, to Jim and Val Joplin. He was a lifelong local resident. Dwight graduated from Kelso High School in 1965 and graduated from Central WA State College. He went on to serve in the Army and later worked as a shift chemist at Longview Fibre until his 2008 retirement. He was a member of the Rainier Eagles and enjoyed woodworking, travel and going to casinos.

Dwight married Robyn Leichhardt in 1968 in Kelso. He is survived by his wife Robyn Joplin, of Kelso; son Robert Joplin, of Longview; brother Kevin (Candy) Joplin, of Kelso; sister-in-law Ramona (Larry) Gamble, of Kelso; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Val Joplin.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 26, 2019, at the Kelso Elks Lodge. Memorial contributions can be made to Community Home Health & Hospice.
