Daniel was born in Los Angeles, Calif., on Aug. 31, 1962, and passed away Sept. 25, 2018, at the Hospice Care Center.
Daniel moved to Toutle as a teenager where he loved dirt bikes, hunting and fishing. He resided in Kelso for more than 30 years.
Daniel was a handyman of all trades, from heavy equipment mechanic, welder, painter to fabricator. He spent most of his years working for companies such as Dale McGhee & Sons Well Drilling, Waste Control, RD Olsen Manufacturing, C & C Logging, JL Storedahl & Sons and Nor-tech Fabrication. He loved gardening, watching hummingbirds and helping his friends and family with a variety of projects. Many friends stopped by his shop on a daily basis, watching Nascar and attending many races with him.
Daniel is survived by his parents, Marcus Saavedra in California and Yolanda Rahier in Oregon; two sons, Spencer Saavedra and Brayden Saavedra, both of Kelso; his former wife, Casie Saavedra of Kelso; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Daniel was preceded in death by a sister, Lydia Saavedra; a nephew, Brandon Stearns; and a very special uncle, Al Rojo.
At Daniel’s request, no service will be held.
