Passing peacefully at Special Place Care Home in Yuma, Ariz., Clark P. Lyon, 78, joined his three brothers in Heaven on Oct. 21, 2017.
Clark was born Oct. 18, 1939, in Mauston, Wis., to George and Grace (Clark) Lyon. When Clark was a very young boy, his family relocated to Longview, where they settled and raised their family.
Clark graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1958 and spent most of his career in the beer industry as a truck driver and salesman. A fun-loving and compassionate person, Clark loved telling stories. His passions were fishing, golfing, playing games, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Twenty seven years ago Clark married his soul mate, Judy Shill. In 1991 Clark and Judy invested in a piece of paradise on the Hood Canal, where they spent many years crabbing and shrimping. In 2002, after retiring, they became “winter visitors” to Yuma, Ariz. In 2015 they sold their home on Hood Canal and became permanent residents of Yuma.
Clark was preceded in death by his brothers, George Jr., Harry and Phil; and his parents, George and Grace Lyon.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Judy (Shill) Lyon at home in Yuma; a nephew, Kelly Lyon (Julie) of Escondido, Calif.; a niece, Jackie (Brett) Wolman of Kentfield, Calif.; a stepson, Curtis Smelser II (Michelle) of Cedaredge, Colo.; a granddaughter, Misti Ungaro (Brant) of Green River, Wyo.; two grandsons, Matthew and Mason Smelser of Cedaredge; five great-nieces, Katie and Jane Lyon and Brooke and Lucie Wolman, and Desi Russell; and a great-granddaughter, Kambrie Shea.
