June 6, 1947 — Sept. 18, 2018
Bernard John Worth was born to John Edward Worth and Gladys Best in Cardiff, Wales, on June 6, 1947. At the age of 8, he moved to Fleetwood, England, and attended Baily School.
In 1975, John met Stephanie Pearson and traveled to San Francisco where they were married. In 1980, they moved to Castle Rock, where they lived for 30 years. John and Stephanie divorced in 2011.
John served a six year apprenticeship and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a machinist for almost 50 years, taking a break in his career to pursue a culinary arts degree at Clark College. Cooking was John’s passion and anyone who stopped by his home was usually offered a meal.
John also enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, riding horses, attending church and spending time with his family. John cooked for many fund-raisers and was involved in the Food Box Program which helped low income families. John was known for calling almost every woman “Love,” and for always being kind to others.
John leaves behind his three children, Tristan Worth (Rachel), Sarah Westdale (Tad), and Andrew Worth (Jackie Tarango); as well as his three grandchildren, Cade Westdale, Devyn Westdale and Harper Jane Worth.
John requested no service be held.
