B O N N E V I L L E P O W E R A D M I N I S T R A T I O N “Raistakka Road - Sheron” land acquisition to protect endangered salmon in south west west Washington Washington The Bonneville Power Administration is working with the Columbia Land Trust to acquire a 40-acre property located near Rosburg in Wahkiakum County and protect it in perpetuity. When the purchase is complete, the CLT will own and manage the property for conservation purposes, and the United States government, through BPA, will hold a conservation easement to ensure the habitat on the property is protected. BPA is funding the acquisition of this property to satisfy some of the Columbia River estuary mitigation commitments outlined in the 2019 NOAA Fisheries Columbia River System Biological Opinion. Information describing BPA’s environmental review requirements under the National Environmental Policy Act are available at https://www.bpa.gov/efw/ Analysis/CategoricalExclusions/Pages/2019.aspx. A map and fact sheet that was mailed to local area landowners will be available on BPA’s land acquisition announcements page here: https://www.bpa.gov/efw/FishWildlife/Land/Pages/ Land-Acquisition-Announcements.aspx.
