DR. JOHN’S CORNER
UTI’s and Mental Function
Recently when a family member was suffering mental aberrations and
pain, what we found was they were dealing with a urinary tract infection
(UTI). Upon clearing the infection, the mental complaints as well as pain
cleared up. Knowing this, the unasked questions remain, “How many
people take medication for problems which aren’t the actual problem at
all?” To complicate matters, these medications can actually aggravate the
condition, creating more chronic problems. The common treatment for a
UTI is an antibiotic to kill bacteria. What fails to be asked is, why’s bacterial
overgrowth there to begin with? Bacteria grows on matter requiring to be
broken down. Whenever membranes of the kidneys, ureters, or bladder
are damaged and broken down from chemicals, either created internally
or consumed, there’s opportunity for bacteria to flourish. The integrity of
these tissues requires proper nutrition. When basic nutrients are missing,
the integrity and restoration of these tissues suffer. Diets lacking an
abundance of these nutrients opens the door to renal infections. Irritability
of the membranes of the bladder and urinary tract due to malnutrition and
chemical overload isn’t something requiring more chemicals. Stop poisoning
the tissues and feed them with the appropriate nutrients required by these
critical mucous membranes, and allow for appropriate healing. Many of the
foundational tissue building nutrients like vitamins A, C, and E. are missing
from fast foods. Also the essential fatty acids which help to strengthen cell
walls need to be included in the diet. Things like soda pop and other high
sugar foods damage the kidneys.
