Lower Columbia College held fourth-ranked Highline scoreless for 23 minutes, but the Thunderbirds caught fire and coasted to a 7-0 victory in NWAACC Western Division women’s soccer on Wednesday in Des Moines, Wash.
“They’re good and they’re fast,” LCC coach Harlan Cruser said of the Thunderbirds. “They’re probably the fastest team we’ve seen in the last few years. They didn’t back off much once they started scoring, but they did sub in a lot of players late.”
Highline led 4-0 at the break.
Standouts for LCC (0-9, 0-5 league) included defender Mikayla King and forward Jaclyn Huber. Goalkeeper Alex Aspinwall had 10 saves.
