The Pelicans return home to face the Los Angeles Lakers at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Smoothie King Center. Here are three things to know.
1. MOTOR CITY MADNESS
The Pistons bring out the best in the Pelicans. New Orleans’ 118-103 win was its 11th victory in the past 12 matchups with Detroit. And Anthony Davis now owns the single-game scoring record in both Pistons arenas — The Palace of Auburn Hills (59) and Little Caesars Arena (38).
2. LAKE SHOW
Isaiah Thomas made his Lakers debut Saturday, playing 30 minutes and scoring 22 points just days after being dealt from the Cleveland Cavaliers at the trade deadline. Thomas was an All-Star last season but has battled injuries and was a bad fit in Cleveland after getting traded for Kyrie Irving.
3. ON HOLIDAY
Jrue Holiday’s minutes at point guard have increased since the Pelicans traded Jameer Nelson as part of the Nikola Mirotic deal. And he proved that skill set is still in his reach, dishing 12 assists Monday. The Pelicans are 12-5 this season when Holiday reaches double-digit assists.
