R.A. Long’s Amilyonno Puc scored the second of his two goals in the 74th minute to lift the Lumberjacks to a 3-2 victory over Hockinson in a Greater St. Helens 2A League boys’ soccer match Wednesday.
Puc also opened the scoring, before the Hawks tied it 1-1 at the half. Damian Perez, who also had an assist, added another in the second half but the Hawks countered again. Puc’s score off an assist from Gerardo Hernandez gave the Jacks’ the victory.
The game also saw the return of Jesus Cabrera, who missed the first part of the season recovering from a knee injury.
The Jacks host Washougal at 6 p.m. Friday.
Washougal 3, Mark Morris 2 (pen.): Landon Hayes scored in the 33rd minute on a feed from Tanner Stello and Schuyler Garcia scored moments later but the Monarchs took a Greater St. Helens League 2A loss in penalty kicks on Wednesday. Washougal scored with twice in the final 12 minutes.
Goalkeeper Adam Burckhardt finished with seven saves.
Mountain View 8, Kelso 3: Colby Radar went 2 for 3 with two RBI in Kelso’s Greater St. Helens League 3A road loss on Wednesday. Cheyton Whitright started and struck out four over four innings, while also knocking in a run. Trey Hartley and Josh Steward combined to pitch three innings with one strikeout.
