R.A. Long won the girls race, and Mark Morris prevailed in the boys run in a Greater St. Helens 2A League cross country meet Thursday at Lake Sacajawea.

RAL won the girls race 15-incomplete, and MM took the boys race 20-39.

Abby Weiler broke the tape for RAL in the girls race in 20 minutes, 59 seconds, followed by Ashlyn Opgrande (second, 21:38), Sadie Dalgleish (third, 22:44), Dani Roberson (fourth, 22:49) and Jordyn Jansen (seventh, 24:47).

MM’s Cassandra Womelsdorff and Brooke Hogsed placed fifth and sixth in 24:00 apiece.

Aaron Brumbaugh of MM won the boys race in 16:29, followed by Austin Beasley (third, 17:20), Dustin Williams (fourth, 17:23), Steven Wallis (fifth, 18:00) and Cameron Snyder (seventh, 19:38).

Dustin Nading paced RAL in second place in 17:18, followed by Ethan Johnson (sixth, 18:19), Jacob Thornton (ninth, 19:54), Orion Yates (10th, 20:00) and Neil Dickerman (12th, 20:43).

RAL runs in the Nike Pre-Nationals in Portland on Saturday. MM travels to Washougal on Thursday.

Onalaska 47, Forks 48, MWP 74, Three Rivers Christian 75, Adna 100: Seth Carns claimed his first victory while also becoming the first Eagle to break 17 minutes in a 5-kilometer race at Thursday’s Fast and Flat meet in Randall.

The Three Rivers junior cross the finish line in 16:58 to finish first while teammate Karsten Rentner was two spots behind in third (17:43) at the 10-team meet that included 54 boys runners.

It marked the first time both runners finished in the top five together.

Wahkiakum freshman Mya Kirzy was the top Mule of the meet, taking 12th in the girls race in 24:24.
