Kelso volleyball beat R.A. Long in three sets Monday night, 25-10, 25-22 and 25-18.
Sami Crockett had 16 assists and Ashley Noah had 13 assists for the Lassies, as Katie Brandenburg picked up eight kills and four aces, Karli Moore had seven kills, Miranda Smith had 12 kills and Carly Meeker had five kills and three blocks. Brittaney Crockett had 15 digs and Ashley McGee had 14 digs.
For R.A. Long, Mari Galvan had nine digs, Klara Hofmanová had seven blocks, seven digs, and seven kills. Megan Meharg dished out 17 assists.
Rainier 3, Warrenton 0: The Columbians finished with three straight aces in a 25-17, 25-16, 25-20 sweep. Breana Edwards had 21 kills and four blocks, Mikayla Lorentson finished with four aces, Taleah King tallied 13 assists and Shaleya Naakahiki-Teves had seven assists.
Naselle 3, Pe Ell 0: Taylor Gudmundson recorded 20 assists, Lily Harman had eight aces, and Sophie Scrabeck had six kills in the 25-17, 25-18, 25-20 sweep by Naselle (2-1)
Mark Morris 3, Evergreen 1: The Monarchs rallied from a first-set loss in the 18-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-22 nonleague victory. Gabrielle Bennett had eight kills, 12 digs, and two aces. Aili Huhta finished with seven kills and nine digs.
Castle Rock 3, Montesano 0: The Rockets started strong and utilized several different lineups, earning the 25-13, 25-18, 25-18 sweep. Auna Dolan had 12 kills, six service points, six assists, and five digs. Zoe Naugle had 11 kills and four blocks. Logann Golden tallied 14 service points and seven digs, while Ranae Holter recorded 19 assists and five digs.
Adna 1, Kalama 0: After 80 minutes of scoreless soccer, Kalama hit golden goal overtime and fell with 49 seconds to go. Mary Morrell had seven saves in the rematch of last year’s district title game and state semifinal.
Life Christian 9, Winlock 0: The score was 4-0 at halftime.
Battle Ground 159, R.A. Long 167: Freshman Noah Gilchrist shot a 39 at the Mint Valley Golf Club on Monday. Chandler Lyon shot a 42, Brady Anderson finished with a 42, and Troy Parrish followed with a 44.
Lower Columbia 3, Skagit Valley 0: Serving led the way to a sweep in the penultimate nonleague game before West Region play starts, as LCC got five aces from Macey Wright and two from Maddie Stimmel. Set scores were 25-14, 25-10, 25-21.
Megan Miller picked up eight kills with a .467 percentage and Nina Bailey had six kills with a .455 percentage.
“I’m really happy with it right now,” coach Carri Smith said of her squad. “We’ve had a lot of tough games and teams we’ve faced but the big things is we know we can beat the best of the best.”
