Mark Morris’ boys’ basketball team showed no signs of fatigue in its third Greater St. Helens 2A League game in the past five days, dominating the Panthers 70-46 on Monday at Ted M. Natt Court.
The Monarchs pulled to a 41-22 halftime lead, and didn’t let up. Garrett Berger tallied 20 points, Tyler Berger finished with 15 and Gage Hendrickson chipped in 10. Reece Gibb tallied nine.
“I was happy with our energy and approach,” MM coach Bill Bakamus said. “Dawson Fritz did a good job running the ballclub and Gage Hendrickson played well off the bench.”
Rainier 64, Toutle Lake 16: Desirae Hansen finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds, six steals and five assists in the interstate battle on Monday at Rainier High. Hannah Farrell chipped in eight points and five steals, Hannah Biddix tallied five points and six rebounds and Reese Chimmel finished with eight points, six steals and six assists for the Columbians.
“It was a good game to work on some different combinations of people and try some different things on offense and defense,” Rainier coach Doug Knox said.
Molly Donald paced the Ducks with seven points.
Mark Morris 2078, Columbia River 1990: Brooklyn Boudreau paced the Monarchs with a 255-455 series in the GSHL 2A win at Triangle Bowl. Myriah Mitchell rolled a 223-395 and Hailee Reynolds had a 183-322.
Lower Columbia 126, Multnomah Bible 42: The Red Devils scored a whopping 63 points in each half and steamrolled the Multnomah Bible College squad on Saturday at Myklebust Gymnasium.
LCC shot 53-91 from the field (58.2 percent) and held MBC to just 15-69 shooting (21.7 percent). Spencer Sweet finished with 20 points and eight rebounds, Donald Scott had 19 points and 12 rebounds and Seth Hall tallied 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
The Devils outrebounded MBC 69-28.
