Lower Columbia College President Chris Bailey will be around at least through the 2016-2017 school year, after the Board of Trustees voted to extend his contract by a year earlier this week.
Bailey’s annual salary will remain at $178,880, as no LCC administrators were given a raise this year. Bailey’s contract is now valid through Aug. 31, 2017.
LCC’s Board of Trustee hired Bailey in 2011. He and has overseen the construction of the University Center, the new Health and Science building and the revamping of the Myklebust Gymnasium. Under his tenure the college also is trying to attract more international students to help boost its enrollment and finances.
