The Washington State Patrol has identified the person who died in a three-car wreck on Spirit Lake Memorial Highway Tuesday afternoon as Kenneth A. Forbes, 24, of Silver Lake.

WSP investigators say Forbes was speeding too fast for conditions, causing his eastbound 1996 Ford Crown Victoria to cross the center line and collide with a westbound 1990 Chevrolet Suburban. The collision caused the Suburban to spin out of control and strike a westbound 2016 Dodge Ram pickup.

The driver of the Suburban, 53-year-old Kimberly Waddell of Longview, and her passenger, 57-year-old Dale E. Waddell Jr., were taken to St. John Medical Center. Each was treated and released, according to the hospital.

The 66-year-old driver of the Dodge pickup and a passenger were not injured, according to WSP. Both individuals were wearing seat belts. The accident occurred at about 4:18 p.m. about two miles east of Castle Rock. At least one lane was blocked until at least 9 p.m. The Crown Victoria and Suburban were both totaled and impounded, while the Dodge was towed by its owner.
