Jason Deseranno of Advanced Excavating Specialists of Longview hefts a water pipe union past a backhoe Monday along Beech Street.

The work is part of a $1.9 million project to replace water lines contributing to rusty and foul-smelling tap water in Longview’s St. Helens neighborhood.

Work started last week and is expected to be completed by January.

Look at that grin on his face. The idiots on the city council should have to pay for this out of their own pockets.

Advanced excavating?? The people that we pay to work on the cities utilities don't know how to dig up and replace a water pipe? We have to outsource that also? Let me guess, the city workers are standing around in a circle watching the real workers, and talking and laughing just far enough off camera so we can't see them??

Have to wonder how many espresso machines, dishwashers and other cooking equipment in any kitchens in town are breaking down and costing busineses money? Think they all should send the bills to whoever decided on this "cheaper" water!
