The Longview salary commission will meet Tuesday to review the salaries of the mayor and council members.
The mayor currently earns $1,500 a month, the mayor pro-tem earns $950 and council members earn $900.
The mayor-appointed volunteer committee is required to meet every two years. In 2016 the commission gave the mayor pro tem and council members a $150 raise each.
The seven committee members may meet multiple times to compare the salaries to those in similar cities and to evaluate the amount of time that council members dedicate to their positions, City Clerk Kaylee Cody said.
After holding a public hearing, the committee will decide what salary adjustments to make, if any. Salary adjustments would go into effect 30 days after the committee files the decision with the city clerk.
The commission’s meeting Tuesday is open to the public. It will occur at 5 p.m. in the training room in Longview City Hall.
