Ronald Cook, who was convicted in December of the molestation of a 4-year-old Kelso girl, was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday.

Cook, 54, of Kelso was convicted of first-degree child molestation Dec. 16. He had previously served 11 years in prison for raping a young girl in Lewis County in 2001. Cook was considered a level-three sex offender, the most likely to reoffend.

Prosecutors said that just six months after he was released last December (and still on probation), he molested the four-year-old he was babysitting in August.

Cook has a criminal history dating back 25 years, including three different counts of felony drug possession and second-degree burglary.
