Kelso police Monday arrested Kenneth Edric Dailey, 31, Kelso, on suspicion of purposely running down his 77-year-old grandmother with his Jeep Cherokee.
An officer said he arrived in the 400 block of North Ninth Avenue to see Dailey pinching the victim’s bloody nose, and said Bailey stood in the way when paramedics tried to provide first aid, the report said.
Dailey said he didn’t realize his grandmother was in the path of his car, but police said Dailey admitted drinking “one or two drinks,” taking prescription medication and smoking marijuana sometime before getting behind the wheel.
The victim suffered a broken nose and was later transferred to Southwest Washington Medical Center for further treatment, police said. She was listed in satisfactory condition Tuesday.
Dailey was booked on suspicion of vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated and obstructing an officer. Bail was set at $15,000.
