Kalama River Road fully reopened at about noon Thursday after several large boulders rolled on to the roadway about a quarter mile east of the Modrow Road intersection, according to Cowlitz County Public Works officials.

Public Works crews closed the road at about 6:30 a.m. One lane was blocked most of the morning while crews patched divots the boulders left in the roadway.

A geotechnical consultant evaluated the slope and concluded there is no immediate threat of another slide, said Public Works spokesman Mark Koelsch.
