Cowlitz 2 and Longview firefighters responded to a vacant commercial structure fire early Thursday morning in the Kelso area.
Crews arrived at 1418 South Pacific Avenue shortly after 5:30 a.m. The south side of the building was ablaze and there was fire from the top of the building, said Erik Dearth, firefighter medic with Cowlitz 2. Firefighters knocked out the flames within a few minutes, Dearth said.
The building was unoccupied and no one was hurt. It’s not clear whether the owner has insurance, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Two engines from Cowlitz 2 and one from Longview Fire responded to the incident in unincorporated Cowlitz County.
