Children and expectant mothers will benefit from $161,000 health care grant awarded by the Kaiser Permanente Community Fund.

The grant is to the Cowlitz Community Network — a partnership of the Cowlitz County Health & Human Services Department, Child and Adolescent Clinic, Youth and Family Link, Head Start, Cowlitz County Children’s Home Society, Cowlitz Family Health Center and PeaceHealth St. John Birth Center.

The money will be used to improve access to preventive care, such as developmental screening and home visit programs.
