The City of Longview has given the Sandbaggers clearance to install a new squirrel bridge that will span Kessler Boulevard near Kessler Elementary School.

For the installation, Kessler Boulevard from 18th Avenue to 20th Avenue will be closed from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sunday, according to the city.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes. Flaggers will be present at 18th and 20th avenues to guide motorists with detours.

The Sandbaggers are a light-hearted civic group who promote the city and the annual Squirrel Fest at the Civic Circle.Contact Daily News reporter Denver Pratt at 360-577-2541 or dpratt@tdn.com
