Recreational boaters found a body on a beach near Brookfield, west of Skamokawa, Sunday morning, according to the Wahkiakum County Eagle.
An article published Thursday indicated that the individual was male and approximately six feet tall. He was about 160 pounds, with a light complexion and was wearing a long sleeve black T-shirt, blue jeans, a black leather belt and Teva hiking shoes.
The Cowlitz County Coroner's Office confirmed Thursday that the body was located at the morgue in Longview, where it had undergone examination.
No more information about the exam could be released without permission of Wahkiakum County coroner and prosecuting attorney Dan Bigelow. Bigelow was unavailable for comment Thursday.
Bigelow told the Eagle that Brookfield is a place where bodies occasionally wash up. The scattered remains of a missing Kelso woman were found near the same area in 2013.
