A body found Sunday in the Columbia River near Woodland has been identified as Camas resident Christopher Michael Kane, 57, who was reported missing last December.

The Cowlitz County coroner has ruled the death a suicide by gunshot, the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office stated Friday in a press release.

A boater reported finding the body, which authorities said appeared to have been in the water for several months.
