Several fishermen discovered a badly decomposed body along the banks of the Cowlitz River in Kelso Saturday afternoon, according to Kelso police.
The body is that of a man who has been tentatively identified, said Cowlitz County Coroner Tim Davidson. However, Davidson said he has yet to consult dental records and is not yet releasing the name until he gets further confirmation.
An autopsy found no sign of foul play and the cause of death likely will be listed as drowning unless blood tests turn up some other cause, Davidson said.
The body was found near Kelso’s old water plant north of the Cowlitz Way Bridge.
