A cast of several hundred will play the roles of Romans and village residents during the Journey to Bethlehem, which runs Thursday through Sunday at the Journey Kelso-Longview Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1185 West Side Highway, Kelso.
This is the 18th year the church has enacted the story of Jesus’ birth from the vantage point of a Jewish family 2,000 years ago traveling to pay taxes in their ancestral hometown.
Visitors are advised to dress warmly for the outdoor event, which takes 20 to 25 minutes to visit. To help preserve the ancient atmosphere, no flash photography is allowed.
Hours are 6-9 p.m. today and Friday and 5-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Doors open one hour before the journey begins.
