Community organizations, vendors and food booths have until April 13 to register early for the Ethnic Support Council’s 28th annual International Festival, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 2 in the Student Center at Lower Columbia College, 1600 Maple St., Longview.
All registration rates double after the early deadline. The final date for acceptance of registration will be May 7.
The International Festival is a free family event that celebrates the community’s growing diversity through multicultural entertainment, children’s activities, ethnic food booths, “world market” vendors and community information tables, according to a press release from the organizers. The event is sponsored by members of the LCC Multicultural Club and the Associated Students of LCC.
Registration fees for information booths for groups offering information only are $10. The fee is $15 for groups needing an electrical outlet. Rates double to $20 and $30 after April 13.
Registration fees for “world market” vendors selling items from various countries and cultures are $25 for spots with no electricity and $35 with electricity. Rates double to $50 and $70 after April 14.
The food booth registration fee is $25 if paid by the early deadline. Groups selling food must get temporary food permits from the Cowlitz County Health Department. Food vendors who register and pay early will receive their $25 registration fee back plus an additional $25, for a total of $50, on the day of the festival to help defray health department fees. One 6-foot table can be provided per food vendor if needed.
