Let’s Loosen Up: 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7; ages 12 through adult; sometimes it’s time to loosen up the perfect brush strokes and have a good time; paint a grass at the beach scene with grasses blowing in the wind, a sky and water; painting will be 11” by 14” painted using water mixable oil paint; all materials provided; instructor Susy Halverson; $30.

Drawing and Painting Animals: 4-5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 9, 16 and 23; ages 8-18; learn methods to draw various animals in proportion and explore ways to show texture; at least three different animals, one chosen by the teacher, one chosen by all students and one chosen by each individual student; work on general and basic shapes to create bodies, lines and shading to create texture as well as dimension and end with creating the project in color; bring a favorite animal graphic book or storybook for the first session; all supplies and light snack included; instructor Beth Bailey; $45.

Painting and/or Drawing for Children: 4-5 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 24, Nov. 14, 21 and 28; ages 7-12; children grow artistically through exploring their own interests; children invited to bring an item that interests them, such as a baseball mitt, bat, etc., to class, then draw it, paint it or both with directions from instructor Scott McRae; all supplies provided; wear clothes that can get paint n them; call ahead if can’t make a class and instructor will provide a make-up lesson; class size 1-6 students per class; $60 per four-class session.

Harvest Paint Party: 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14; ages 18 and older; paint a fall scene in acrylics with vibrant warm colors; supplies and snacks included (choice of cider, hot chocolate or tea); 4-8 students; instructor Beth Bailey; $35 (pay in advance to ensure spot in class).

Providing Depth in Your Art (Drawing, Painting or Both for Adults): 10 a.m.-noon Mondays, Oct. 23, 30 and Nov. 6 and 13; high school age through adults; learn to use darks and lights when using pencil or paint; comparing colors opposite each other on the color wheel adds interest and zing to paintings; learn how to show depth in painting; explore which opposite works best; may explore acrylic paint, charcoal drawing, watercolor, oil pastel, chalk pastel or other mediums a student finds interesting; instructor Scott McRae; if can’t make a class, call instructor to schedule a make-up lesson; 1-6 students per class; $80 per session.

Floral and Nature Watercolor Class: 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 21, 28 and Dec. 5; ages 18 and older; all skill levels; learn new techniques to paint flowers and nature’s wonders; variety of subjects to explore; students should complete at least two paintings during the class; supplies included; 10 percent discount if use own supplies; instructor Beth Bailey; 4-8 students per class; $50 (pay in advance to ensure a spot in class).
