Charles D. Roy, 57, was born March 17, 1956, in Oakland, Calif., and passed away Nov. 17, 2013, at home in Longview.
He graduated from high school in California and attended multiple trade schools. Charlie moved to the local area in 1974 and worked in sales for Englund Marine in Astoria. He retired earlier this year. Charlie was an amateur radio operator (KE7LWQ). He was a fun-loving man with many hobbies and enjoyed fishing and target shooting. Charlie was a dedicated husband and an expert dad. He was always motivated and loved to help others.
He married Barbara Deskin Aug. 27, 1977. She survives him at home. Also surviving are two sons, George and Charlie Roy; a grandson, Johnathan Roy; a brother, Greg Roy; a daughter-in-law, Amanda Roy; a sister-in-law, Rebecca Roy; and his mother, Irene (Cokenokess) Roy.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father, George A. Roy in March of 1998.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park & Crematory.
