William M. Harman
William M. Harman, 100, of Longview passed away September 7, 2017 at Hospice Care Center. William was born September 25, 1916 in Bulpitt, Illinois to Matthew and Anna (Shaffer) Harman. He lived in the local area for 68 years.
William was a machinist at Weyerhaeuser for 32 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Kelso.
Fishing was his passion with his best friend, Joe. When he gave up his fishing boat in his late 70’s, his trips to the Lucky Eagle Casino to play Keno was the highlight of his week. He was a man of quiet deep faith in God. He would talk to God and The Blessed Lady every morning and night.
William married Josephine (Jessie) Sarkauskas in 1940 in Chicago.
Survivors include two daughters, Theresa Harman of Longview and Francine Harman of Kelso; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 siblings, his wife ‘Jessie’, and his son Matthew.
