Ken Anshutz, 71, of Castle Rock passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2018.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, JoAnn Anshutz (Hancock); two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherrie and Mike Owren, and Kim and Tim Yore; four grandchildren, Mike, Nichole and Nick Greenland and Hayden Yore; a great-grandson, Marshall Greenland; a brother, Jim Anshutz; and two sisters, Diana Brisco and Billie Jo Anshutz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Evelyn Anshutz.
Ken was a decorated Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. After the war, Ken returned to his job at Longview Fibre where he worked for 38 years as a millwright. He was a union representative for AWPPW Local 153.
Ken enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always the life of the party wherever he went. He loved to travel and camp with his family. Ken had a passion for building and riding Harley Davidson’s and collecting and showing classic cars. He was an outgoing, strong man who loved to have fun with everyone he met. Ken was extremely dedicated to his family and took a great deal of pride in always being there for friends and family whenever called upon. After Ken and JoAnn retired, they bought a house in Arizona and became snowbirds enjoying the Arizona sunshine in the winters.
