Lifelong local resident Ila May Weedman, 90, passed away peacefully at home Feb. 26, 2018.
Ila was a graduate of Kelso High School. She loved learning and took numerous college courses. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, toll painting, cooking and caring for her home and family.
Her greatest love was knowing Jesus and sharing His love with others. She attended numerous Bible studies and loved fellowship with her study friends.
Ila was preceded death by a son, Michael Weedman; four brothers, Paul, Ray, Charles, and Elten Zerby; three sisters, Laura Ellis, Alma Wickstrom and Kay Polasek; and a great-great-granddaughter, Katelyn Michelle Vossen.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years, William; two sons, Vernon (Jeanne), and Phillip; three daughters, Ellen Hayes (Mike), Kay Rupe (Red), and Melody Gemar (Kelly); and three generations of grandchildren (47), all of whom she loved and adored.
Please join the family for a celebration of Ila’s life at noon Saturday, March 17 at Faith Family Christian Center, 2203 38th and Ocean Beach Hwy., in Longview. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall. Viewings are planned from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Columbia Funeral Service.
