Eileen Lenore Wheeler
Eileen Lenore Wheeler, 98, of Longview passed away August 29, 2017 at Canterbury Inn, Longview. Eileen was born May 17, 1919 in Barker, MN to Charles and Clara (Gerard) Reeves.
She lived in Longview the last 39 years. She moved to Sunnyside, WA from MN when she was 1. When she was 12, she moved to Longview, and later traveled as a pastor’s wife living in Montana and Wyoming.
Eileen attended RA Long and graduated at Northwest Nazarene Academy in 1937 in Nampa, ID. She was a bookkeeper and homemaker, and a member of the Longview Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, loved flowers, reading her Bible, and teaching Bible studies. Ray & Eileen were missionaries in New Zealand for 4 years. She loved the Lord, her friends and family dearly.
Ray Ralph Wheeler and Eileen were married December 7, 1937 in Longview.
Survivors include three granddaughters, Vicki Wheeler of Waterloo, IA, Kristin Kohman of Downers Grove, IL, and Pamela Kee of Amarillo, TX; great grandchildren, Michael Izzard, Charlie Kohman, Ellie Kohman, Alyssa Edwards, and Logan Edwards; good friends, Andy and Tammy Hanson of Toutle; and nieces, nephews and friends.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, daughter, Dr. Gayle R. Wheeler in 2002; sons Jay in 1999 and Don in 2003, her parents; brothers, Warren Reeves and Lee Reeves.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 15 at the Longview Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Michael Yost officiating.
