Albert Glenn Morkert, 61, of Kelso passed away Nov. 1, 2017, at home.
He was born June 28, 1956, in Longview, to Henry Nuton and Lillian Christine (Stamner) Morkert. He graduated with the Kelso High School class of 1975.
Al was a saw filer for Northwest Hardwoods from 1975 to 2015 when he retired due to disability. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, being with family and spending time on his boat, fishing and hanging out with friends. Al was funny and fun-loving. He loved to tease his nieces and nephews, and was a favorite uncle. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Al is survived by seven brothers, Robert (Nora) in Astoria, Ore., Lloyd in Kelso, Leslie (Mary Kay) in DeRidder, La., James, Johnny and Harvey, all in Longview, and Henry (Elaine) in Castle Rock; a sister, Carol Wimer of Longview; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Glenn and Norman; and a sister, Odella Dixon.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16 at the Catlin Grange, 205 Shawnee St., in Kelso. A luncheon will follow. Please come and share your memories.
