Dog owners in Kelso and Castle Rock have until Saturday to renew their pups’ licenses, the Cowlitz County humane society said. Those who miss the deadline risk late fees and being cited with a $257 civil infraction.

Kelso licenses cost $9 for spayed or neutered dogs or $24 after Saturday’s deadline. Licenses for unaltered dogs are $27 or $42 if they’re late.

Castle Rock licenses for spayed or neutered dogs cost $9 or $14 after the deadline. The Castle Rock fee for unaltered dogs is $25 or $30 after Saturday.

Proof of rabies shots is required.
